EDWARD CREAMER: DRESSAGE RIDER & TRAINER

Edward and Sven

Edward took part in his first dressage competition aged thirteen on a Dales pony and gradually grew to love the sport. Edward then spent a summer working for international rider, Zoe Colgate, and realised that dressage was a passion that he wanted to pursue professionally. In 2003, Edward secured a job in Germany with dressage greats Georg and Monica Theodorescu.

Whilst working for the Theodorescus, Edward was selected by Monica to be her competition groom and was entrusted with her top horses on a daily basis, as well as traveling to many international competitions with her. During his time in Germany, Edward backed many of the young horses on the yard, as well as learning the German techniques of lungeing and training from green to advanced level horses.

Since his return to England in the summer of 2005, Edward has been training with one of Britain's most reputable trainers and riders, Nicky Barrett.

Sven (Korenbloem Santiago) and Edward have countless top placings under their belts through the affiliated dressage levels, including 3rd in the Four Year Old Championships in 2003, and 7th at the National Winter Dressage Championships in 2008. In 2013 we made the very difficult decision to sell Sven to a lovely para rider so that Edward could concentrate on his young horse, Casanova (Nova). Nova is currently competing at Medium and is a seriously exciting prospect for the future.

Edward is a registered British Dressage trainer and chief dressage instructor for the Old Berkshire Hunt Pony Club. His clients range from eight year olds just starting to understand the importance of dressage, through to adults working (and winning!) at more advanced levels.
